An annual event coordinated by the Georgia Historical Society as part of the Georgia History Festival, commemorating the founding of Georgia. Originally coordinated by the Coastal Museums Association, as an event to promote Savannah and coastal area sites, the Georgia Historical Society took over the event in 2001. In recent years GHS has expanded participation statewide.
Takes place the Sunday closest to Georgia Day (February 12). This year, there are 98 participating sites in all parts of the state. A full list of sites, interactive Googlemap, and printable map are available by visiting http://georgiahistoryfestival.org/events/2018-super-museum-sunday/.
